The Opportunity:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic Psychology Teacher to join this innovative school in February 2025. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), this is an excellent opportunity to teach Psychology at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and thought-provoking Psychology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, using innovative and student-centered teaching methods that foster independent learning.
  • Design dynamic and inclusive lesson plans that cater to a diverse range of student needs, utilizing a variety of resources and strategies to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Assess student progress regularly through both formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic and personal growth.
  • Promote an in-depth understanding of psychological concepts by connecting theoretical knowledge to real-world applications and current psychological issues.
  • Incorporate global events, case studies, and contemporary psychological research into lessons to encourage critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Support the development of independent research skills through project-based learning, field trips, and the use of psychological research methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities department to share resources, best practices, and develop cross-curricular learning opportunities.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular activities, including organizing psychology-related clubs, enrichment programs, and school talks that enhance students' understanding of the subject.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior in line with school policies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being, respect, and collaboration.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in psychology and education, incorporating new teaching strategies, technologies, and methodologies into your practice.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience teaching Psychology at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • A strong understanding of the Psychology curriculum, with the ability to teach using innovative, engaging approaches.
  • A degree in Psychology or a related subject (desirable).
  • A genuine passion for Psychology and a desire to inspire students in the subject.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities.
