Are you an experienced and passionate SEN professional ready to lead and inspire? Our secondary school in Tower Hamlets is looking for a skilled SEN Coordinator (SENCo) to champion inclusive education and ensure that every student with additional needs receives the support they deserve.
Role Overview:
As the SENCo, you will lead the school’s provision for students with special educational needs, working closely with staff, students, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a supportive and inclusive environment, making a lasting impact on student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the SEN provision, ensuring compliance with national guidelines and school policies.
- Develop, implement, and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with teachers, support staff, and families.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN strategies and best practices.
- Work closely with external agencies, including therapists, psychologists, and local authority representatives.
- Monitor the progress and well-being of SEN students, implementing interventions as necessary.
- Lead meetings with parents and carers to discuss student progress and next steps.
- Champion a culture of inclusion and ensure SEN students are fully integrated into school life.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with additional SENCo qualification or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in leading SEN provision in a school setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, legislation, and resources.
- Outstanding communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- A commitment to fostering an inclusive and positive learning environment.
