Mathematics Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start
A successful secondary school in the vibrant and diverse borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join their high-achieving department. This is a full-time, permanent position with a January 2025 start date.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at Key Stage 5 depending on the candidate's specialism and experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a love of mathematics and numeracy.
- Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, problem-solving, and a growth mindset towards mathematics.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including technology and collaborative activities, to enhance students' mathematical learning and engagement.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Mathematics department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in mathematics education.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Mathematics or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curriculum, with knowledge of KS5 desirable.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
