About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower young men to embrace the world of drama and theatre. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and dynamic Drama lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' creativity, imagination, and confidence in their performance skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Drama lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore dramatic concepts and techniques with curiosity and enthusiasm.
  • Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in drama education.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and challenged to reach their full potential.
  • Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting a growth mindset and a belief in their creative abilities.
  • Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
  • Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
  • Direct and produce school productions, providing opportunities for students to showcase their talents and develop their performance skills.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified Drama Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their appreciation for the performing arts.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for drama, with a strong understanding of dramatic theory, techniques, and performance styles.
  • Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
  • A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
