The Role:
As an English Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, fostering intellectual curiosity and a deep appreciation for the power of language.
- Create a dynamic and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to explore literary texts, express their creativity through writing, and develop their communication skills.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including classic and contemporary literature, drama, and creative writing workshops, to inspire students.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the English department to enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's vibrant literary culture.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3, KS4, and (ideally) KS5 English curriculum.
- Experience teaching English in a secondary school setting.
