Role Overview:
As an SEN Science Teacher, you will develop and deliver science lessons to students with SEND, ensuring that lessons are accessible, engaging, and effective for all students. You will work alongside a team of educators to support the individual learning needs of each student, helping them achieve success in both academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver differentiated science lessons that are accessible to all students with SEND.
- Use creative and engaging strategies to make science learning interesting and understandable for students with various learning needs.
- Track and assess student progress, providing feedback and adjusting teaching methods where necessary.
- Work closely with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure personalized learning.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with additional learning needs.
- Encourage student independence, confidence, and positive social behaviours in the classroom.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching science in a secondary school setting, preferably to students with SEND.
- Strong subject knowledge in science, with a creative approach to making lessons engaging.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- A passion for supporting students with SEND to achieve their best.
