Design & Technology Teacher Required - Outstanding School in Kingston upon Thames
A high-achieving secondary school in Kingston upon Thames, with an 'Outstanding' Ofsted rating, seeks to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology (D&T) Teacher to join their successful department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching D&T across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop their creativity, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Creating a positive and stimulating learning environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and independent learning.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
- Utilizing a range of teaching resources, including workshops, equipment, and technologies (such as CAD/CAM and 3D printing), to enhance students' learning experiences.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Design & Technology department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to innovation and design.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Design & Technology or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 D&T curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for design and technology.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
