We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic department. Key Responsibilities:
- Curriculum Delivery:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics, reading comprehension, writing fluency, grammar, vocabulary acquisition).
- Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading, identifying themes, character development, literary devices).
- Building Relationships:
- Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans, targeted intervention strategies).
- Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, intellectual curiosity, and a love for the English language.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
- Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills (written feedback, peer review, self-assessment).
