The Role:
As a Geography Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging and thought-provoking lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, covering a range of geographical topics such as physical landscapes, human geography, environmental issues, and global development.
- Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment where students can explore maps, analyze data, conduct fieldwork investigations, and develop their critical thinking skills.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including GIS technology, documentaries, debates, and field trips, to bring geographical concepts to life.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to global awareness and sustainability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Geography or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3, KS4, and (ideally) KS5 Geography curriculum.
- Experience teaching Geography in a secondary school setting.
