The Role:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic DT/Food Teacher to join our forward-thinking team in April 2025 or earlier. This is an exciting opportunity to teach Design Technology and Food Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience. Whether you are an experienced teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT), you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team where your ideas and creativity will be valued.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Design Technology and Food Technology across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring that both practical and theoretical aspects are covered in an inspiring way.
- Develop creative lesson plans that make use of modern teaching methods and resources to stimulate students' interest in design, technology, and food science.
- Assess student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to help them improve and succeed.
- Encourage students to think critically about design and food technology, promoting problem-solving skills, creativity, and sustainability in their work.
- Integrate real-world applications into lessons, helping students understand the relevance of what they learn and its impact on society, industry, and the environment.
- Support students in developing key practical skills such as designing, creating, and evaluating their own products, as well as developing a strong understanding of food and nutrition.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the department and school to share best practices, innovate teaching approaches, and ensure a cohesive learning experience for all students.
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular program, organizing clubs, workshops, and enrichment activities that further enhance students' learning and passion for design and food.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and attendance, in line with school policies.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, creativity, and personal growth.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Experience teaching Design Technology or Food Technology at secondary school level.
- A strong understanding of the curriculum for Design Technology and Food Technology, with the ability to teach using innovative and engaging methods.
- A degree in Design Technology, Food Technology, or a related subject (desirable).
- A passion for inspiring students and helping them develop their creativity and practical skills.
- A commitment to fostering a supportive, student-centered learning environment.
