About the Role:
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering stimulating and high-quality lessons that inspire students across all key stages, from Key Stage 3 through to A-Level. You will help students explore their creative potential, develop their performance skills, and deepen their understanding of theatre. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for drama education, with the ability to engage students of all abilities, challenge their thinking, and foster collaboration and self-expression.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver exceptional Drama lessons that inspire creativity and critical thinking across all key stages.
  • Create a dynamic, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to take creative risks and engage with the subject.
  • Organise and supervise extracurricular drama activities, including school productions, drama clubs, and performance opportunities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and mentoring to support students’ academic and personal development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across the school to enhance the overall curriculum and ensure a holistic approach to education.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Drama department’s curriculum, resources, and teaching strategies to maintain our outstanding standards.

Key Requirements:

  • A qualified Drama teacher (PGCE or equivalent) with proven experience teaching Drama at secondary level.
  • A genuine passion for the subject and a commitment to inspiring students to achieve their full potential.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to tailor teaching strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience in organising and leading school productions or extracurricular drama activities is highly desirable.
  • A commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in the classroom, ensuring students develop a lifelong love of drama and the performing arts.
