About the Role

As a Maths teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons to meet the unique needs of students with SEN. You will work alongside a supportive and collaborative team to foster an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where all students can thrive academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging Maths lessons tailored to the individual needs of students.
  • Adapt the curriculum to accommodate students with a wide range of learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and track student progress to ensure they reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to create an inclusive, person-centred learning environment.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to enhance students’ understanding and confidence in Maths.
  • Promote positive behaviour and maintain a classroom environment where students feel safe, respected, and motivated to learn.

Key Requirements:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS or equivalent).
  • A solid understanding of the Maths curriculum and experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset when working with staff and parents.
  • A strong commitment to ongoing professional development and improving outcomes for students with SEN.
