Geography Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start
A dynamic and forward-thinking secondary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a deep understanding and appreciation for the world around them.
- Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, inquiry-based learning, and an understanding of geographical concepts and processes.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including maps, GIS technology, fieldwork opportunities, and digital media, to enhance students' geographical understanding and skills.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to global awareness and environmental sustainability.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Geography or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for geography.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
