Mathematics Teacher Required - Wandsworth Secondary School

A thriving secondary school in the vibrant borough of Wandsworth is seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Mathematics Teacher to join their high-achieving department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Mathematics across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and foster students' mathematical understanding, problem-solving skills, and fluency.
  • Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, inquiry-based learning, and a growth mindset towards mathematics.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
  • Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including technology and manipulatives, to enhance students' mathematical learning and engagement.
  • Collaborating with colleagues within the Mathematics department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in mathematics education.

The Successful Candidate will have:

  • A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Mathematics curriculum.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for mathematics.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
