Geography Teacher Required - Kingston Secondary School

A high-achieving secondary school in Kingston upon Thames is seeking a well-qualified and enthusiastic Geography Teacher to join their successful Humanities department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging and informative lessons that are aligned with the national curriculum and the school's educational philosophy.
• Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, inquiry-based learning, and an appreciation for the world around them.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs.
• Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including maps, GIS technology, and fieldwork opportunities, to enhance students' geographical understanding.
• Collaborating with colleagues within the Humanities department to develop and enhance the curriculum and share best practices.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• A degree in Geography or a related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Geography curriculum.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for geography.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
