About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire young women to engage with the big questions of life and existence. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and thought-provoking RE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, fostering students' understanding of the Catholic faith, its traditions, and its teachings, while also promoting respect for other faiths and worldviews.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging RE lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Catholic ethos.
- Foster a love of learning and encourage students to explore religious and ethical issues with open minds and critical thinking skills.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in religious education.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected, regardless of their own beliefs.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting intellectual curiosity and a respect for different faiths and cultures.
- Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
- Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified RE Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and fostering their understanding of religion and belief.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for RE, with a strong understanding of Catholic theology, scripture, and tradition, as well as an appreciation for other faiths and worldviews.
- Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
