Role Overview:
As a Sociology Teacher, you will:

Teaching and Curriculum:

  • Deliver engaging and high-quality sociology lessons to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with the opportunity to teach A-Level Sociology for the right candidate.
  • Develop and refine curriculum materials that align with national standards and school goals, ensuring lessons inspire and challenge students.
  • Foster a love for sociology by connecting theoretical concepts to real-world social issues, encouraging students to think critically and analytically.

Student Progress:

  • Regularly assess student progress, providing meaningful feedback to support academic and personal development.
  • Use assessment data to inform your teaching, address learning gaps, and ensure all students are supported to reach their full potential.

Professional Development:

  • Engage in reflective practice to continually improve your teaching and contribute to the development of the Sociology department.
  • Participate in the broader school community, supporting extracurricular activities and school events, helping to create a dynamic learning environment.

Candidate Requirements:
Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • A degree in Sociology or a related subject.
  • Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are warmly encouraged to apply.

Experience:

  • Experience teaching Sociology at secondary school level, with a strong understanding of the national curriculum.
  • A passion for inspiring students and supporting their academic and personal growth.
