A creative and dynamic secondary school in the diverse borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Art Teacher to join their thriving Art department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Art across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and innovative lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and foster students' creativity, artistic expression, and appreciation for diverse art forms.
- Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, experimentation, and the development of artistic skills and techniques.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and artistic abilities.
- Utilizing a range of art materials, resources, and techniques to deliver a rich and varied curriculum, including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and digital art.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Art department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's vibrant arts culture through exhibitions and displays.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Art curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for art and design.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
