Position: KS4 Class Teacher

Are you a compassionate and dynamic teacher with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEND)? Our specialist SEN school in Ealing is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic KS4 Class Teacher to empower young learners as they prepare for their next steps in education, employment, or independent living.

Role Overview:

As a KS4 Class Teacher, you will take on a vital role in helping students with SEND achieve their potential. You will design and deliver tailored lessons that not only meet curriculum objectives but also develop essential life skills, fostering confidence and independence in each student.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative, differentiated lessons to meet the individual needs of KS4 students with SEND.
  • Support students in working towards their GCSEs, functional skills qualifications, or alternative accreditations.
  • Incorporate life skills and vocational learning into the curriculum to prepare students for post-16 education and future independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other support staff to provide holistic support for each student.
  • Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies for students with complex needs.
  • Regularly assess and monitor student progress, adapting your teaching approach to ensure continued growth and achievement.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation, creativity, and resilience.
  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, providing regular updates on academic progress and overall well-being.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with KS4 students, particularly in an SEN or alternative provision setting.
  • Knowledge of teaching strategies and approaches for students with SEND, including ASD, ADHD, and other learning needs.
  • A compassionate, flexible, and patient teaching style that encourages confidence and curiosity in learners.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, families, and external agencies.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
