Psychology Teacher Required - Secondary School in Lambeth - January 2025 Start
A high-achieving secondary school in the vibrant borough of Lambeth is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Psychology Teacher to join their successful Social Sciences department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Psychology at Key Stage 4 and/or Key Stage 5, depending on experience and expertise. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and thought-provoking lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and exam specifications.
- Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and an understanding of psychological concepts and theories.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including research studies, case studies, and psychological experiments, to enhance students' understanding of the subject.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Social Sciences department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Psychology or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS4 and/or KS5 Psychology curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for psychology.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
