Physics Teacher Required - All-Girls Independent School in Sutton - January 2025 Start

A leading independent school for girls in the vibrant borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Physics Teacher to join their thriving Science department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, fostering a love of science and empowering young women to excel in STEM subjects. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a deep understanding of physical concepts and principles.
• Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and technology, to enhance students' understanding and engagement with physics.
• Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in science education.
• Promoting and supporting the participation of girls in STEM subjects and extracurricular activities.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• A degree in Physics or a closely related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the KS3, KS4, and (ideally) KS5 Physics curriculum.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for physics.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• A commitment to empowering girls and young women in STEM fields.
