Physics Teacher Required - All-Girls Independent School in Sutton - January 2025 Start
A leading independent school for girls in the vibrant borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Physics Teacher to join their thriving Science department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Physics across Key Stages 3, 4, and potentially 5, fostering a love of science and empowering young women to excel in STEM subjects. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and challenging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and inspire students to develop a deep understanding of physical concepts and principles.
- Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, scientific inquiry, and critical thinking.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
- Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including laboratory experiments, demonstrations, and technology, to enhance students' understanding and engagement with physics.
- Collaborating with colleagues within the Science department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to excellence in science education.
- Promoting and supporting the participation of girls in STEM subjects and extracurricular activities.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Physics or a closely related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3, KS4, and (ideally) KS5 Physics curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for physics.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- A commitment to empowering girls and young women in STEM fields.
