SEN Teaching Assistant – Specialist School in Greenwich

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with special educational needs? Our specialist school in Greenwich is looking for a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and provide invaluable support to students with diverse learning needs.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and other specialists to support students both inside and outside the classroom. You will help implement tailored learning strategies and provide individual and group support to ensure students are able to reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the delivery of personalized learning and development for students, providing one-to-one or small group support.
  • Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to cater to the specific needs of each student.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to deliver targeted interventions and strategies.
  • Provide assistance with personal care and mobility where necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers to help adjust learning plans as needed.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (preferred but not essential).
  • Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is committed to creating an inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Is open to further training and development opportunities.
