Inspirational Deputy SENCo – Primary School in Islington

Are you ready to take on a leadership role in SEND education? Our inclusive primary school in Islington is looking for a dedicated Deputy SENCo to work alongside our SENCo in delivering exceptional support for students with additional needs.

Role Overview:

As Deputy SENCo, you will assist in managing the school’s SEND provision, ensuring effective support strategies are in place. Your leadership will help foster an inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the SENCo in coordinating SEND provision across the school.
• Oversee and implement targeted interventions for students with additional needs.
• Develop and review IEPs and EHCPs, working closely with teachers and parents.
• Provide guidance and training to staff on SEND best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of interventions, reporting findings to senior leadership.
• Build strong relationships with external agencies and families.

What We’re Looking For:

• QTS and experience in an SEN role, ideally with leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• A proactive and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
