Our primary school in Islington is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCo to lead the provision of special educational needs support. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with SEND, providing leadership and guidance across the school.
Role Overview:
As the SENCo, you will take responsibility for the strategic development and management of the school’s SEN provision. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure that every child with additional needs receives the support and resources they need to succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the SEN provision across the school, ensuring all students with SEND receive high-quality, personalized support.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with SEND.
- Provide advice and support to teachers on strategies for teaching students with diverse learning needs.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, working closely with teachers and parents to ensure continuous improvement.
- Liaise with external professionals and agencies to access additional support and resources.
- Organize and lead meetings with staff, parents, and external agencies to discuss students' progress and strategies for improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and SENCo qualification (or in the process of completing).
- Proven experience as a SENCo or in a similar leadership role.
- A strong understanding of SEND and the ability to lead a team of staff in providing support for students.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
