Role Overview:
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs across the primary school. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, working closely with the classroom teacher to ensure that the students’ academic, emotional, and social needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for students with special educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students.
- Support the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and contribute to regular reviews.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and confident.
- Monitor and track the progress of students, providing regular feedback to the classroom teacher.
- Encourage the development of both academic and personal skills in students, ensuring they have the tools and confidence to succeed.
- Work closely with other teaching assistants and support staff to deliver a cohesive and effective educational experience.
What We’re Looking For:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in an SEN setting, is highly desirable.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children who have special educational needs.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A proactive approach, with the ability to use your initiative when supporting students.
