Are you a passionate and dedicated teacher with a desire to make a meaningful impact on young learners with special educational needs (SEN)? Our respected SEN school in Newham is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate KS1 Class Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team.

About the Role:
As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for fostering an inclusive, engaging, and tailored learning environment for students with a range of SEND. You will play a key role in shaping their educational journey, boosting their confidence, and guiding them toward achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver differentiated, engaging lessons for a KS1 class with a variety of SEND needs.
  • Create a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere that caters to each student’s individual learning and developmental requirements.
  • Collaborate with support staff, therapists, and parents to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each child.
  • Monitor student progress, employing personalized strategies to enhance engagement, progress, and achievement.
  • Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive, holistic support to each child.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers, offering regular updates on student progress and well-being.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience teaching KS1 students, ideally in an SEN setting.
  • A strong understanding of SEND and experience working with children who have a diverse range of learning needs.
  • A creative, adaptable, and engaging teaching approach that motivates and inspires students.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students.
