Drama Teacher Required - Secondary School in Sutton - January 2025 Start
A vibrant secondary school in the lively borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Drama Teacher to join their thriving Performing Arts department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.
The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Drama across Key Stages 3 and 4. Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging and creative lessons that inspire students to explore the world of drama and develop their performance skills.
- Creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment that encourages students to take risks, build confidence, and express themselves through various dramatic forms.
- Directing and producing school productions, providing students with opportunities to showcase their talents and experience the magic of theatre.
- Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to the needs of all learners.
- Contributing to the development and enrichment of the Drama curriculum and participating in departmental and whole-school initiatives.
The Successful Candidate will have:
- A degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- A strong understanding of the KS3 and KS4 Drama curriculum.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for drama and theatre education.
- Proven ability to effectively manage a classroom and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
