Are you a dedicated and passionate teacher eager to make a difference in the lives of young learners with special educational needs (SEN)? Our well-regarded SEN school in Haringey is looking for an enthusiastic KS1 Class Teacher to join our supportive and dynamic team.
About the Role
As a KS1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and individualized learning environment for students with a range of SEND. You’ll help shape their educational experiences, build their confidence, and support them in achieving their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for a KS1 class with varying SEND needs.
- Create an inclusive, positive classroom environment that supports each student’s learning and developmental needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with support staff, therapists, and parents.
- Monitor and assess student progress, using tailored strategies to encourage engagement and achievement.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic support for each child.
- Build strong relationships with parents and carers, offering regular updates on their child’s progress and well-being.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching in KS1, ideally within a SEN setting.
- A strong understanding of SEND and experience working with young children with diverse needs.
- A creative and flexible teaching style that engages and inspires students.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
