Position: Design Technology (DT) Teacher

We are looking for an experienced Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join our innovative secondary school in Leeds. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach a range of DT subjects, including Product Design, Engineering, and Food Technology, and will work with students to develop both their practical skills and theoretical knowledge. We are looking for someone who can inspire students through hands-on, project-based learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach Design Technology at Key Stage 3 and 4, with a focus on product design, engineering, and food technology
• Develop engaging lessons and projects that foster creativity, critical thinking, and technical skills
• Prepare students for their GCSE exams, providing both practical instruction and theoretical knowledge
• Manage the DT workshop, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment
• Organize and lead extracurricular activities such as technology clubs or school competitions
• Collaborate with other departments on cross-curricular projects and initiatives

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
• Experience teaching Design Technology at secondary school level
• Strong knowledge of various DT disciplines (Product Design, Engineering, Food Technology, etc.)
• Passion for inspiring students to develop their design and technical skills
• Excellent communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
