Key Responsibilities

In this rewarding role, you will:

  • Design Tailored Lessons: Plan and deliver engaging, individualized lessons that meet the unique needs of SEN students and align with the curriculum.
  • Collaborate with Staff: Partner with classroom teachers to adapt and differentiate lesson plans, ensuring accessibility for all students.
  • Provide Targeted Support: Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups to reinforce learning and foster confidence.
  • Develop IEPs: Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with families, teachers, and specialists to meet specific learning objectives.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Progress: Regularly assess student performance, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Promote Inclusion: Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports diversity and encourages all students to thrive socially and academically.
  • Engage with Families and Specialists: Build strong relationships with parents, caregivers, and external professionals to create a holistic support system for each child.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled educator who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Has significant experience working with children with special educational needs, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of SEN teaching strategies, interventions, and best practices.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Brings a patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to addressing individual student needs.
  • Is committed to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
