About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower young people to embrace a healthy and active lifestyle. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and stimulating PE lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, promoting physical literacy, and fostering a love of sports and fitness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging PE lessons for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in line with the National Curriculum and the school's Christian ethos.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to participate in physical activity.
- Develop and implement innovative curriculum initiatives that align with the school's vision and the latest advancements in physical education.
- Coach and mentor students in a variety of sports and activities, promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy competition.
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all students, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, promoting confidence, resilience, and a love of physical activity.
- Play an active role in the department, including contributing to curriculum development, assessment strategies, and departmental meetings.
- Participate in whole-school events and initiatives, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified PE Teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students and developing their physical literacy and sporting abilities.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for physical education, with a strong understanding of different sports, fitness activities, and pedagogical approaches.
- Strong pedagogical skills with the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive, stimulating, and safe learning environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the ongoing development of the department.
