The Role:

As a Health and Social Care Teacher, you will:

  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons across Key Stages 4 and 5, covering a range of topics such as human development, health and wellbeing, social care values, and care in different settings.
  • Create a dynamic and interactive learning environment where students can develop their critical thinking, communication, and problem-solving skills within the context of health and social care.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources, including case studies, role-playing, and guest speakers, to bring the subject to life and inspire students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and differentiated support to ensure each student reaches their full potential.
  • Contribute to the department's success by collaborating with colleagues to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and organize enriching extracurricular activities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Health and Social Care, or a related field such as Nursing, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
  • A strong understanding of the KS4 and KS5 Health and Social Care curriculum.
  • Experience teaching Health and Social Care in a secondary school setting.
