Economics Teacher Required - Secondary School in Sutton - January 2025 Start

A successful and ambitious secondary school in the borough of Sutton is seeking to appoint a well-qualified and enthusiastic Economics Teacher to join their thriving Social Sciences department. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in January 2025.

The Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Economics across Key Stages 4 and 5. Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that meet the requirements of the national curriculum and exam board specifications, fostering students' understanding of economic principles and their real-world applications.
• Creating a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student participation, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing differentiated learning strategies to cater to diverse learning needs and abilities.
• Utilizing a variety of teaching resources, including current events, economic data, and case studies, to enhance students' understanding of economic concepts.
• Collaborating with colleagues within the Social Sciences department to develop and enhance the curriculum, share best practices, and contribute to the school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education.

The Successful Candidate will have:

• A degree in Economics or a closely related field.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
• A strong understanding of the KS4 and KS5 Economics curriculum.
• Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for economics education.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
