The Opportunity:
We are seeking a passionate Psychology Teacher to join this prestigious school starting in February/April 2025. This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to make a significant impact by teaching Psychology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach A-Level depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging Psychology lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, ensuring lessons are differentiated to meet the diverse needs of all students.
- Foster a deep understanding of psychological concepts, including cognition, behaviour, development, and mental health, helping students connect theory to real-world situations.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support academic growth.
- Promote critical thinking and analytical skills by using case studies, psychological research, and current events in the field of psychology.
- Encourage independent learning through project-based work, field trips, and the use of psychological tools and research methods.
- Collaborate with colleagues within the Humanities department to enhance teaching practices and cross-curricular learning.
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular activities, organizing psychology-related clubs, talks, and workshops that extend classroom learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and behavior in line with school policies.
- Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes student well-being, respect, and collaboration.
- Stay up-to-date with developments in the field of psychology and educational best practices, incorporating new strategies and technologies into your teaching.
What We’re Looking For:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience teaching Psychology at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
- Strong understanding of the Psychology curriculum and assessment techniques.
- A degree in Psychology or a related subject (desirable).
- A passion for inspiring students and fostering their interest in Psychology.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate and engage students.
