The Role
As an English Teacher in our PRU, you will:
- Design and deliver tailored English lessons that engage and motivate students.
- Use creative and adaptable teaching methods to reignite students’ enthusiasm for learning.
- Help students develop essential literacy skills and achieve their academic goals.
- Monitor and assess progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching approaches as needed.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including support staff, therapists, and external agencies, to address individual student needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher who:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Has experience teaching English, particularly in alternative provision or PRU settings.
- Demonstrates strong classroom management skills and a calm, empathetic approach to managing challenging behaviours.
- Is committed to helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
- Possesses excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Is passionate about providing a supportive and engaging learning experience for young people.
